This year, the St. Alban’s Bexley Turkey Trot celebrates its 11th anniversary, highlighting over a decade of community engagement and support for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. St. Alban’s hosts this Thanksgiving Day event, which begins at the church, 333 S. Drexel Avenue, Bexley. 

On this special day, there is something for participants of all ages, including a 5K run, a 2K walk, and a 100-yard “Tot Trot.” 

The Columbus-based company RacePenguin manages ticket sales and partners with the St. Alban’s community to ensure that all technical details for race day are in order. Funds are raised through participant ticket fees and from individual and corporate sponsors. 

The Food Bank’s partnerships span a 20-county service area called the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. Through this network of over 600 local food pantries, soup kitchens, feeding sites for children and seniors, and after-school programs, the Collective serves more than half a million people annually in central and eastern Ohio. 

In 2024, St. Alban’s raised over $16,000 at the Bexley event, an amount matched by the Food Collective, for a total of over $34,000! As organizers, sponsors, and Turkey Trot participants, we give thanks by sharing our financial resources, our time, and our energy to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
