In January 2019, the sixth rector of St. Alban's began his service. He was a bright light, full of energy and ideas, while respecting our culture. His energy extended to all aspects of the worship and community life of St. Alban's. His work emphasized the development of lay leadership, involvement in the Bexley neighborhood and outreach to the greater Columbus community. He was personable, generous with his time and sensitive to the spiritual and pastoral needs of the congregation.
In October 2022, he resigned his position due to personal health issues. The parish reaction has been significant. Both privately and in group sessions, the vestry and congregation discussed the emotions and thoughts engendered by such a sudden and unexpected departure.
Some of what you see at St. Alban's and on our website reflect his influence and our aspiration to continue down many of the paths begun under his tenure. Additionally, our 100-year-old church maintains many long appreciated and enduring traditions.
Sudden departures of clergy provide parishioners with a variety of emotions. We remember and honor the accomplishments of our former rector while acknowledging his struggles and our reactions to them. We are ready to move forward as a congregation.
Come, join us as we glorify God, use our strengths to grow through challenges, and offer a vibrant place of worship and fellowship in our community.
